Managing Partner
Thierry Bernard has practised at the Paris bar since 1994 and is notably involved in:
- acquisitions and disposals of companies, group restructurings and the monitoring of company legal secretariats, in all business sectors, particularly insurance;
- insurance distribution (brokerage structures, distribution agreements, direct marketing, bank insurance, etc.) for French and foreign companies (freedom to provide services and of establishment);
- drafting and negotiation of all contracts relating to IT, e-business and personal data protection.
He is a recognised expert in the operations of partnerships and the creation of group structures in the sector of mutual insurance firms. In particular, he has assisted mutual insurance firms in the creation and development of one of the first mutual insurance group companies. He began his career with the law firms, Bignon & Lebray (1994-1995) and Price Waterhouse Juridique et Fiscal, which became Landwell (1996-1997), before joining Lefèvre Pelletier & associés, where he practised for five years (1998-2002) before serving as a partner for a further seven years (2003-2009). He was a co-managing partner of Quadrige from 2010 to 2013 and founded CORUS in September 2013. He is a graduate of the Economics and Finance Section of the Institute of Political Studies (IEP), Paris, and holds a master’s degree in business law and taxation from the University of Paris II-Assas. He regularly heads training events and conferences, as well as publishing articles in specialist magazines [more information]. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) the International Association of Insurance Law (AIDA), the French Chamber of Trade and Industry in the Netherlands (CFCI), the French Association of Personal Data Protection Officers (AFCDP) and of the “Insurance” and “IT” commissions of the Association of Graduates of the IEP (Sciences-Po). The associates of CORUS have double qualifications, i.e. a Master’s degree in Law completed either by a business school or a foreign university qualification. They practice in both French and English.
